ABOUT ME

I'm Jayne, a trauma-informed psychotherapist trained to Master's level.

I have over 15 years’ experience at helping people accept and love their authentic, weird, out-of-place selves.

I work with clients of all ages, especially Gen Z and Millennials in their twenties and thirties, navigate the ups, the downs, and the cliff edges of life.

How I got here

Although I’ve got bags of experience and qualifications, I didn’t get here the conventional way.

I left school without any qualifications, and worked my way up the business career ladder. Until one day, I realised it was people I cared about, not finance.

I studied for a psychology degree around my job, and then trained as a psychotherapist. Later I studied for a Master’s in Transpersonal Psychotherapy, and later still I trained in trauma therapy, to help people suffering with PTSD and complex PTSD.

I’ve worked clinically in the NHS, the charity sector, and private practice. I’ve been helping clients for over 15 years now, and I absolutely love my job.

There’s nothing better than seeing someone understand, accept, and forgive what’s happened to them in the past.

Except, perhaps, for seeing them step into their true selves with confidence and self-love.

When I meet a client who’s living with unnecessary baggage like anxiety, depression, and low self-worth, I feel hopeful.

Because I’ve seen, time and time again, that it’s not only possible, but entirely probable, that they can turn it around. That they can live a life which feeds them, and enables them to thrive.

OK, there’s no magic bullet. But with both of us pulling together as a team, and with quite a bit of work, it happens.

And now for some personal stuff

Despite all my qualifications, I’m dyslexic. However, this is a secret superpower, as it means I think outside the box.

I see the jumbled alphabet of a person, not just a linear ABC.

It also means I love working with neurodivergent clients, including people with ADHD and Autism.

I’m passionate about my job, but I do have other passions too. When I’m not helping my clients, I love eating (much more than cooking!) and walking by the sea.

What about you? What fires you up? What makes you angry or sad? Get in touch, and see if I can help.
